THIS NEW LAYOUT IS FINE BY ME
Everything changes. Things evolve and adjust.
I personally approve of the new look.
You had your chance to complain when the demo screens were made available a little while back.
I would also ask you to re-frame your complaint in a more civil manner. Your approch is not approved of here.
Great Work Grant.

Where are the rest of the messages that were on the board this morning?

RE: where are the old messages?
Hi Ted
Some people's browser cache's (and perhaps ISP proxies) are still directing them to the old site. A couple of these people managed to find the old site and still post messages there this morning.
I'll close the old site down fully over the next couple of days and move across any messages that inadvertantly end up there in the meantime.
Cheers
Grant

hehe
Perhaps you could give me some idea what it was about the old layout you preferred? Maybe i can modify this layout to suit? Remember that this new site suits multiple layouts - if i have time before christmas, i might make one on a xmas theme :)
In fact, if there are any budding web spinners that feel like modifying this one... Care to roll your own skin for this website? Check the HTML source of these pages and you'll find that outside the Start Body and End Body tags everything remains the same for each page. Don't hesitate to mail me with your queries. Post me a copy of the finished product and i'll make it available as an optional skin.
Finally, Carol, i know you're entitled to change your mind as many times as you like.... but didn't you comment on the new layout less than two weeks ago saying that you thought "the new one is great"?
Carol's old post
hehe
Cheers

RE:ew! too much shouting :)
your a silly billy
I said I prefer the home page true enough
BUT
I prefer the way the tech page looked before. What I really mean is the actual page lay out of the new one is not as pleasing to the eye as the old. However the Home page is easier to read now that it is not Black and purple and green.
:-)

hehe glad we sorted that out

uhuh... anything in particular?
*cyber correction pen at the ready*
i do know that the message board lists can look ugly when messages with long titles spill onto a second line in the layout
much as i have tried to keep the pages as accessible as possible, the lists will look much better at a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher. They are still readable at 640x480, of course - just not a pretty 'site'.
Cheers

"This new layout is @!#$..." etc etc
Hello everyone
I've just been having a nosey around the site trying to follow the jist of this gripping conversation and although I didn't see the previous layout, wondered if there's anyway to keep the whole conversation and everyone's additions to it on one page? It takes ages to load up each response and would be handy to scroll through it instead no?

RE: "This new layout is @!#$..." etc etc
Hi Clare
Nice idea!
hehe you think it takes ages to load? It's taking about one fifth of the time the old pages took to load :)
Still, if we did put all nine (now ten) posts in this thread into one long list it would take nine (ten) times longer to load.
Most visitors are not trying to read all the posts at the same time. They just want to see what is new. You're next visit might be coming here to read this reply. You don't want to sit and wait for it to load the nine messages you've read already, you just want to read the new one that has been added.
It will help a great deal, too, when i put the mailing list back up again. That way you can have each post delivered to your mailbox. You don't need to come here to read them all. You just pop in to reply to the ones you want to.
Cheers
