What i don't understand, is that this page is supposed to be about actors, and the theatre in WA. Yet it seems pretty evident from everything, that people want Omnibus to end. Why? They have been in the state doing hteatre for a long while, and just because they don't pay their actors, it likes makes them bad.
What would everyone prefer? Somewhere where you could tread the boards without money, or simply no where at all?James

EMAILNOTICES>noNo, it's the fact they pay *some* people and not the others - we're concerned about equitable treatment, that's all.

> not HAVE to also pay the Regal crew they would do so.- At last we're getting somewhere. It's taken days to extract this piece of information... See why everyone wants to see the books? Just so we can understand where Omnibus is coming from, that's all. Tell us who else Omnibus has no option but to pay and we may start to see why there are some inequities in the payment system.

> everything, that people want Omnibus to end. Why?Ke!? Where did you get that impression? I have not heard ONE statement that could even IMPLY Omnibus - It must go.Omnibus has done a lot of good for the local theatre industry and they are one of the Few organisations left that could do it even more good. What I see as being the general point of all this debating is that Omnibus be made accountable or to give on it's promises of some years back.I would like to thing that Omnibus have some very good reasons for the way they are currently operating, but when are things going to change? I really do not want to go Eastern States to pursue my dream of professional theatre. I am patriotic to my home state and the City I have lived in nearly all my life, but their is so little oppertunity here. Omnibus (and I point out that they are not the only ones) has the ability to change that and add to something that is desperately lacking in WA - PROFESSIONAL THEATRE. Yes there is some, but over 90% of PROFESSION shows that play in Perth are from The Eastern States or Over Seas. Now I have nothing against Theatrical Tours before anyone gets the worng idea on that, but over 90%? Why? Do WA Performers feel they are not good enough? Are we happy to continue exhausting ourselves (for something we love sure) without significant gain (other than emotional satisfaction.) One does not progress theatrically in WA, one just simply exists, or moves elsewhere. What I feel this debat is all about is a change of attitude, from both the Actors and the Theatrical organisations. WA does not give itself enough credit. We need to wake-up to ourselves and our potential, both of us.Omnibus shouldn't close, it should evolve."She's not all apples mate. She's peaches and oranges too."

> Jeff "Fruity" WatkinsWell said Jeff - Keep push'n d'a barr'a.I for one don't want to see their books - there probably like mine "to be produced for the occasion", I am sure they are as creative as the situation will allow or as it need to be to statisfy? - it's their biz anyway. They hang out a shingle and promote what they are doing for theatre - does it matter what they gain or loose as it is their choice. The only piont I can see is the fairness of 'what they are about' as the whole bag.I am more than sure, if I did the same thing, mine would be nailed to the floor and/or I would have a problem dealing with it. This might be their situation at present.Joe "half a pound of 'nanna 'nannas" McCabe
