There is actualy techies

There is actualy techies here that have been around for eaons, such as Bill (from Garrick) & of course Dave Ashton fom "all thihgs Theatre'!

As for smoke machines used in theatre, that goes back to when Aude Adam was in shorts.

Although the Chineese messed about with it in thier theatres & used manual & mechanical smoke machines. The same in Saxon times with 'Scops' (story telers) & indeed most cultures.

One of the longest that has endured today is the Bee Keepers smokers, which undoutably was of the same principle as utalised in theatre. Or even the North American Indians who adapted rituals enhancedd by different coloured smoke & I believe even 'Cracked Oil'.

Of course there is S.M.O.K.E!

Of course there is the theory of 'SMOKE' {Simulated Manifestation Of Known Energy!) which may or not help you underconstuble the base principle? http://www.peizhang.com/forfun/forfun_writings_smoke.htm
