Skinning the Boards!

 I couldn't help but notice yesterday rhat the old Revolve at Garrick was still obvious in the stage deck. Which must be a problem, even for the warm props treading the boards!

I would have thought the revolve had been sorted out by now.  as it's had the snorkle? I started to wonder why they keep acomodating "IT' as it must be a total pain in the rhe aftend!

Besides being a saftety issue with the gaping edge of the revolves penertraion in the stage decking, which has been there for eons - but why?

It would not be a very costly to rectify the situation, only in persperation, which we all have oodles to spare for free!

The simplest I can think of is corking the circular gap (Oakum it) &/or reskinnig the deck with suitable sheets of probably Mosonite, which is cheap enough & readly available, Even if these are scavenged from a large printing companies, as they are used to protect delivery of paper stocks.  (Quadcap size or it's metric equiverlent)

As for the gap this can be Corked, in much the same manor as they do with a Clinker built hulls & other vessels. Not sugesting this is done with Manila cordage 'n tar'd. But using other Products readily available.

If Mosonite boards are cut into square sheets, this makes it easier to replace damaged sheets, rather than cutting in full  sheets each time.

The flush surface of the Masonite, is a great surface for paiinting, also giving the aude Coke Cola treatment' when washing the deck, for it to become somewhat Non skid! 

Also with this deck skin it makes it easier to wash & keep broom clean.

This can be a wee project for those of us that have nowt m're t'dee?
