At this point in time, we don't have a stage Manager, set designer, prop builders,set painters...in fact, we're still 3 short of cast members. Not to worry! Buddha will provide, or so my 'lettuce and spiced omelette' friend assures me. Now call me cynical, but being my letters to Santa, and Buddha are coming back with a 'No longer at this address' stamp, I thought it best, not to wait and see if Buddha does in fact provide. Rather, I'd best go off and seek...and so here I am seeking...even just your advice would be appreciated. This gig may prove enticing to those of you who like a challenge, the main challenge is we have to create a set within a very short lead time. How short? Think of 'Dopey' or Sneezy' and you'd be close. What are we creating? A TV studio...that changes to a lounge room, and then back to a studio, and then an Irish pub..see, easy....well it would be easy if I found making sets as easy as writing frivolous plays with no essential meaning. On a serious note, anyone who'd be kind enough to offer input, props (I can supply a list), we'd be most grateful, we'll even reward you with tickets to the show, so you can admire your handiwork. cheers

I have no idea about your production &/or what area space that the script dictates.
However if you utilise the OP & PS apron stages, then with a Tab track/drapes at half stage, this would give 2 main acting areas on stage & 2 satellites apron spaces.

This may help in defining the stage areas, [ref to the 'Blueroom'], however there may be an odd designated name or two, that the Pohms use that we don't &/or have oher local deignations :-
T.A.P. (Where are you now!?!?!)
This is a prime example of where a group that Joe and I attempted to create a few years back would come in handy.
T.A.P. (Technical Advisory Pool) was a concept created by Joe to assist companies/Directors and AmDrammers with techy type problems (I.E. Lighting, Sound, Set Building/Design/Painting, precise period costume etc).
Joe and I managed to gather a few like minded souls that were willing to pass on their "expertise" in a given field to who ever was having the problem.
We were NOT a volunteer task force that would come in and do the job for you, but simply, as the name implies, an Advisory Group who could be called upon to suggest methods to assist the suffering party out of their pain.
(IF the "Techspert" was willing/able to stay on board with the production and assist "physically" with the show then that was his/her own choice.)
Unfortunately, the T.A.P. concept was very short lived for whatever reason.
A shame really, many productions in and around Perth and as far afield as Kalgoorlie have been aided by members of the T.A.P. team.

Like all good things, they eventualy end up down the loo!
Which was a pity because at least it may have been somewhere for old farts like me, to go & feel usefull again.
The concept I felt had merit for a lot of ameatre future endeavours. But it became easier to pull the chain, instead of plodging upto our collective noses thru the political mire.
Although Aunty Ita 'n the Old Mill were great in thier assistance, it's a pity the rumble of jungle drums & misconception previaled in pulling the pin on it.
It was surprising the amount of support, that was extended by theatrical suppliers, at the time, here on the backside of the theatre world. Offerings of technical asistance & even special prices &/or yearly prizes for comeatres & fellow Tappers achievements.
So Tio Tio Chookas Greame & Howell for your ideas, time 'n input!
Further we also had interest in finding a proposal to afford training for our teachies, by offering a path to assist those who complied with the Electrical Licening Act {WA], training for the Limited & restricted Electrical Licene, as applied to theatre & the Entertainment Industry.
The Department showed a lot of interest in assuring Licensing & compliance within ameatre at the time. Opening the door for ITA member groups to become part of the overall training concept & licening process. Which may have course offered Aunty a wee bit of grist to the funding mill?
