I'm intrigued, Mike from the Huon, please post details of your solution to shrinking/growing Alice here. Pretty please?

I will post our solution here . . . when we get one. At this stage, we only know that we want to be able to simulate this, and have been looking at assorted possibilities. But we don't start production on this for a couple of months yet, so we haven't been pursuing solutions with vigour yet. We are in the middle of our current production, so that has commandeered all our available brainpower for the moment.
