The Sapphires Wireless Mic Placement
Fri, 29 Jan 2010, 04:21 pmIf you get a chance, go and see The Sapphires, currently playing at The Playhouse Theatre as part of the PIAF.
The four leads use lavalier mics in their hair and wigs, the sound is great and the mics are very hard to spot.
Looked up a few artices on it and it is worth trying

this has been stanrd
Thu, 11 Feb 2010, 10:27 pmthis has been stanrd placement for a long time. generally the mic used will be a dpa 4066 lapel usually in conjunction with sennheiser beltpacks, i would assume sapphires are using the sk5012 beltpacks, which are also the most used beltpacks in music theatre in australia. i would probably stick clear of these in an amateur sense as they can be volatile if you don't know how to eq them, you should if you can insert an eq over each radio channel if you can, or at least insert over a subgroup and send mics there, but that isn't really aoolicable to music theatre with the amount of mics you need to be muting or unmuting.
