Hi guys, seeking the experts advice once again. How can one create a lawn effect on stage, without spending squillions on artificial turf? Note: Said garden scene is placed directly after the interval so there's set up time available (20 minutes), however on the other side of the scene, there's only a few minutes to clear props etc, including: garden bench, fake plants etc... the stage is jarrah stained floorboards. Can it be done? Lighting? Second question. I like the idea of using free standing lattice as screens, does anyone know where this can be hireed . purchased cheaply, or would it be better to paint a mobile flat? cheers Johnny Grim

The third time?

I've been growing this new blend of couch grass which works really well indoors for about a couple months. So long as you drop some broad-spectrum lights on it for a few hours each night. It comes in lovely green swards of 4x4 foot squares, which would have a good effect on stage, and can take the rigours of hard use as they're stitched together using cutting-edge, wombat-strand technology. All natural, all legal. Beauty about it is that you can mow the sucker down after the last performance of the season and keep the post-season party going strong well into the night, and even the next day. Smokes like a charm and beautifully, and without the need for any drying time. I would imagine such a new couch variety blend will become real popular in the amateur theatre scene. My patent is still pending, though. That Bill Murray character got in before me by a few decades on something similar, but his is the outdoor variety and mine the "indoor" stage performance kind. So I do beleive I have a chance of taking the thing to market with protection, eventually. What more could you possibly want from a lawn that you can use for the entire season of a production and then have the entire crew and performers smoke it till their eyes pop whilst closing shut? DFM/THC-COUCH-PERFORMANCE-GRASS: Your perfect lawn even when the scenes are being staged indoors. Sweet and satisfying for all! And so all I can say for now is that it's sweet, dude...
