PHOENIX RISE - RISING THEATRE UPGRADE
Wed, 7 Jan 2009, 10:33 amThe Phoenix Theatre upgrade is going well, expertly being carried out by David Ashton & his offsider Steve the Techie, from 'All Things Theatre' - as well as a couple of other Theatre techies - who are rather shy & choose to remain as anonymice!
With David's experience & his empirical skills & knowledge. We have gained the installing of a Trust Grid, to dead hang Light battens, Legs, borders, Cyc & Tab Tracking. {To over come the Archy tech leaving a ceiling over the stage - Unfortunately we can't have even a creative accident & design and drop a large stage weight to fall through the ceiling, so it would have to be removed. As there is a 20 odd foot roof void available as as a fly space above it. Because the 'Daffodil Man' has used the space to accommodate the Air Con units & this Archy tech even built a floor with a gyp rocked room to house them, above the stage ceiling - What a 'Wally'!}
Also David is fitting up 2 FOH Light bars & 2 Light battens over head on the stage. Along with 50+ Patch Box, which will give at least 10 Patch Circuits per light Bar & Batten.
Which also gives the opportunity to expand the patch system, to accommodate 'Dip Traps' on the stage, latter on!
There will also be a 4 way 'Talk Back' & SM control unit to be fitted up, as well as Audio equipment. Latter David will be making up the acoustic drapes 7& auto Pole system.
However ever if any theatre techies have nothing better to do, we will be there at the theatre, [Cnr Rockingham Rd & Carrington St Hamilton Hill - just turn left at Fremantle] from 10AM today. If you wish to lend a hand, you will be most welcome.
Everything always happens as once, as I'm moving house to Embleton over the next couple of week busy busy!

Fantastic News Joe...
'PHANTOM OF THE PHOENIX'
Thanks Peter - I'll have to find another Theatre over there to haunt?
So if anyone is in the need of a clapped out old Techie - let me know.
I can just about feebly do most things, conducive to one who is invalid! Except I draw the demarcation line at window cleaning!
I'll miss Phoenix, although I'll be still there, but in spirit only - which could always add to our 'theatre ghost' myths - though I still can't find my Purple Tights or Skull Ring Thing any where?
I'll try & make up a 'Ghost Light' before I fall off the perch! - To ensure I don't go 'A over kettle' - when the space is black!
