Fri, 17 Oct 2008, 09:56 amHi,
I am urgently seeking a revox tape machine for a theatre performance at the VCA. Does anyone know where I might be able to hire, borrow, buy a revox.

revox
try the local museum, or a company which transfers tape to cd or an old established repair company who got left one or track ebay I sold mine on there or try other theatres who have them stored away.

Old Revoxs
The ABC used to have hundreds of them. I don't know if they still have some. I would think that most pro theatres would have had them 10 years ago and they would be sitting on a shelf gathering dust now. In there day a B77 was 2 or 3 thousand dollars, so not the kind of thing you would just throw away, even when you can replace it with a few hundred dollars of hardware and some free software. I'm pretty sure that here in Perth the Maj and the Playhouse still have some. You could try System Sound. I'm sure that they would have had some at on time, and may have one sitting on a shelf somewhere.

Revox B77 MKII tape machine
Hi Tim,
I have a Revox B77 MKII Tape recorder for sale, it is in very good condition throughout except for the pinch roller. The roller's rubber has lost it's hydrolastic stability and drooped into a sticky goo (common for a 30 y/o rubber), however they are simple to repair and spares are readily available from numerous suppliers worldwide.
