Hi, Just wanting suggestions about staging the use of a full syringe. And if there are retractable syringes, like some stage knives.

My suggestion would be to simply use a syringe without a needle attached and mime it. If you mask the actual injection with an actor and have the injectee flinch at the right moment, the audience's attention will probably shoot straight to the actor's face without thinking "heeeey, there's no needle on that syringe".

It depends Luke, in what the scene entails. Is the character being injected against their will? Is the character an IV drug user? Is it in a medical context? The three mentioned above would require different approaches if you wanted to make it look real. Ohterwise I would agree with Grant. Can you give greater detail? Cheers Robert
