Skinning the stage?
Sun, 13 July 2008, 03:00 pmIt may be interesting to find out what your theatre/venue do, about covering the stage floor, either normally or for different productions?
Especially if it is say a polished flooring & the group is not allowed to paint it or even use any staging screws.
We at Phoenix Theatre [Hamilton Hill] have always solved the problem easily each time & painted the deck to suit the production. But for others groups with this problem, your posts & ideas on this topic might help them out!
I do have a large quantity
Sun, 13 July 2008, 10:06 pmI do have a large quantity of interlocking floor tiles, painted grey and going cheap, however the normal answer is masonite sheets taped down, foul stuff to use as if you catch a corner it breaks so easily and is ruined.Perth Theatre Co use it all the time and I have the job of shifting it.Canvas used to be a common option but seems to have fallen out of favour, we toured a huge canvas with "Sistergirl"[Black Swan] and that was painful in the extreme.
