This is to advise all clubs that ITA will be sponsoring a lighting and sound Expo informing those interested about the latest equipment available for Sound and Lighting so that submissions may be made under the IGNITE funding proposal. This expo will be held at Playlovers base - Hackett Hall, Draper Street, Floreat Saturday July 12th 10am- 4.00pm. David Ashton (All things Theatre), will display a wide range of lighting and sound equipment, including Showtec, and DAP audio, wireless microphone systems. http://www.allthingstheatre.net.au/intro.htm Kevin Harris of Pro Design Lighting will display a range of lighting and sound equipment including Selecon, Theatrelight, Production Intercom, Lee filters. http://www.pro-design.com.au/home.php This is your chance to have a look at and use some of the latest professional equipment that could end up in your theatre if you put in an Ignite submission. Playlovers have replaced their old CCT30 1000 watt zoom profiles with twelve Selecon Acclaim Axial 600 watt zoom profiles, come and find out why they did it. Quotes will be given (on the spot) so that Clubs can produce finance submissions for the IGNITE funding.

I must join in the applause

I must join in the applause for David, Kevin, their Families & company's  . Also Playlovers for the use of their venue & of course dear Aunt ITA for the initiative in organising it all.
A pity only a half a dozen Groups were Represented & turned up, but I'm sure the ones that did will be a lot better off, in organising their Grant application submission. It was virtually a 'One stop Shop' & I know a few groups got assistance in other associated stagecraft aspects & problems at the same time.
As for 'TAP' it started on the upstage foot & with 4 Tappers in step, they broke the Leg Line to start up the show. One thing that was reiterated by all, as everyone is hard working within their own home theatre group, they are only there as as technical advisor's [Hands in pockets] who are available locally to assist Groups who have a problem within their theatre or an aspect of mounting a production. {@ the 'Techie Moot' - Greame [Stirling] Jeff [Melville] Mark [Grads] & that other Idiot who keeps turning up & over shadowing me! - Gawd I can't seem to get rid of him?  }
It is open to anyone who is of a like mind & prepared to share their skills &/or empirical theatre knowledge with others. I would envisage even with a person who has been used, abused or burnt out being in theatre. Rather than loose them all together & they give up the game, come & join us & have a swim in the gene pool for a while, it's warm & will rejuvenate you?
However TAP is not there to do it for your group, but will assist in showing your members how to do 'IT' in the dark!  Also if we don't know we would know how to find out, one way or another.
I hope eventually we can cover all aspects of theatre & it's associated disciplines. Which can include FOH, Make up, promotion & other aspects of running an Incorporated Community Theatre Group.
So if you want to join in, email me or contact any of the 'Happy Tappers' you will probably meet from time to time. There are no fees or any of that palaver! [Even for those lwho are an old fart like me & past their use by date!]
We will become more structured over time & like water, will eventually find it's own level .
