The Kwinana Art Centre is a modern facility comprising of 3 venues. A 100 seat theatrette, a 250 seat auditorium and the 1000 seat outdoor amphitheatre.
The centre hosted 286 performances in the 2006-7 financial year and anticipates increasing this in 2007-8 to around 320.
Primary Role:
Provide technical support for the management and users of the Kwinana Art Centre:
Secondary role:
To provide technical support to groups within the community on an occasional basis.
To provide technical support and maintenance to other STL venues as required.
To provide administrative cover as appropriate at times within the venue.
Requirements:
Essential requirements:
The desire and ability to work in a small team of four people.
The ability to learn and stay calm.
Ability to work at heights of up to 6 metres from ladders and elevated work platforms.
Good customer relations – especially in pressured situations.
The acceptance that this industry demands that we work the majority of weekends.
Total reliability.
Working with Children and Federal police clearance.
Advantageous requirements: (Training will be provided if necessary)
Ability to make up and project 35mm film.
Knowledge and experience in rigging and operating professional sound systems.
Knowledge and experience in rigging and operating professional lighting systems.
Use of DMX controlled moving lights and special effects.
Experience in stage management and backstage operations.
Remuneration:
The position is offered under the Cinema workers award as it covers the multiskilling components of this position better than others.
The position is rostered to 60 hours per fortnight. Overtime will be availble from time to time.
A wage in the range of $14.00 - $19.50 per hour ( $21,840 - $30,400) per annum will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
This is non exclusive employment and management will encourage and support any employee wishing to further their work experience of education, in conjunction with this position.
It is anticipated that this position will lead to a management within the company, subject to the attainment of relevant competencies, within 3 years.
