I agree with Craig, As a general principle, artists of any kind should not undersell their skills and creative ability. If you are going to sell your talent, then charge at least the minimum industry rate. It's not smart to sell yourself short as well as undercut the market. From an economic perspective, the entertainment industry (amateur + professional) - not counting the mega-events - is a multi-million (billion?) dollar industry in this country. That is not reflected in the earnings of the vast majority of those who choose a career in it. So, you're not only selling yourself short, but everybody else as well, which is why Craig is put out. Most artists struggle enough as it is. I make these comments not as a professional theatre person myself, because I am not, but as a matter of sound principle. Jim
