Hi, I am the TD for a production of tick, tick...BOOM by Johnathon Larson (the guy who wrote Rent) which will be on at Theatreworks in late May-early June. I am looking for the most economical body mic systems I can get for the week run of the show. They are all so expensive! Our budget isn't tiny but most quotes are like $1100 just for three body mics for a week! Anyone have any ideas?

Yes I know what you are thinking, just get boundary mics or overheads istead of wireless bodypack/head mic systems...the director and I both think this is a bad idea as there is a huge band onstage with the performers.

Thanks for your help!!!

Cheers,

you're being over

you're being over charged. you shouldn't be paying any more than around $130 per week (without discount) per unit, for GOOD QUALITY units.. don't accept anything other than sennheiser or sony systems. If they mention the brand chiayo or anything else, you'll be wasting your money :) i've used greenland audio before, give them a call.. they have a huge number of radio systems for hire. cheers dave
