Fake cat fur - help!
Tue, 10 Oct 2006, 09:15 pmHi everyone,
I'm working on a short film at the moment where a female character needs to slowly transform into a cat. This requires applying fake hair to her arms, legs and face as well as making her hands and feet resemble cat's paws. Just wondering if anyone knows any good tricks for applying fake hair (using spirit gum, maybe?) or has any suggestions on how I can make this look as real as possible.
Thank you!

You take a small piece of cloth cut to the shape of the facial or other area you want, really light muslin is OK although a friend of mine used to swear by those blue cloths you can buy for washing up, you apply the hair gently ensuring it is all laying in the same direction and glue the base lightly to the cloth. After that is finished you seal the back, my mate used to use latex.
The piece can then be applied to the skin using spirit glue. Sweating of course can bring it off the face but I don't reccomned super glue.
I think that's a bit more rational.
Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.
