Les Mis Auditions
Mon, 18 Apr 2005, 02:51 pmDid anyone audition for a chorus/minor role for the MS Society's production of Les Miserables this Saturday?
And if so, did any of you get a call back? Just wondering if they are only doing callbacks for the major roles.

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Aeva,
We will not be making any callbacks until we have completed all of the auditions.
You will probably hear from us in a few weeks. Call backs will be held on Saturday 30th April at Black swan theatre company.
good luck
Kelly.

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Thanks for the clarification Kelly.
Sorry, just got a bit confused as the information sent to me by David says callbacks are on the 23rd of April.

Re: Les Mis Auditions
No - for these roles and the smalls I was only asked to do the two songs and nothing else? I haven't heard of anyone who has been asked to do a monolouge so far.. what about you?

Re: Les Mis Auditions
No I didn't either,
I was just curious to see if they saw anyone's monologue (of the people auditioning for the younger female roles).
Cheers for the reply!

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Hi Kelly, I was just wondering whether the people asked to come for a call back will need to do a monologue as well as the song requested?

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Can anyone tell me if all the callbacks have been notified yet?
Walter PlingeWed, 27 Apr 2005, 09:57 pm
Re: Les Mis Auditions
Yes Lilian I did audition, I thought it went okay but it's not really my sort of musical so I'm not that fussed! What roles were you trying for?
I have not been notified for a callback yet!
Aeva in my experience chorus members and cameo roles generally do not have to attend a callback audition. But of course I can't say for sure!
Let us know if anyone gets a callback!! :)

My friend was notified for a callback today for this Saturday, I doubt they'll call anyone else much closer to Sat.

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Everyone who was required for a callback has been notified.
I understand that they are not calling back everyone. so even if you haven't been notified for a callback you may still make the show. so don't panic just yet!
People will be notified by mail in the next week or so letting them know if they are in the show or not.
I hope this helps
Goodluck to you all, the standard was extremely high. i'm glad i don't have to select the cast.
Cheers
Kelly.

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Kelly, do you know how many people auditioned for this production and how minor roles there are? Thanks :)
Walter PlingeFri, 29 Apr 2005, 05:39 pm
Re: Les Mis Auditions
Hello Kelly Giles,
I was wondering when you said that you understood that they were not calling "everybody" back do you also mean other auditionees being considered for principal roles or do you just mean everybody including the chorus and minor roles?
Generally chorus and people with only minor roles are not called back, the minor roles are really part of chorus??
Any help would be marvellous

Re: Les Mis Auditions
Hi Carole here, I m directing Les Mis in Pinjarra which opens on the 13th. No news may be good news! We auditioned 97 people and it took us eight days to settle on our cast of 67. Some we called back and some we didn't need to as our decision was made immediately that they were who we wanted for particular roles.
If it helps - I have some cast members who went up and auditioned for the Regal's Les Mis. To date as far as I am aware only one has had a callback for this Sta (30th) and she knew by last Monday that she was called back , and the others to my knowledge have not heard anything as yet. Good luck

Re: Confusing name stuff!
Hi to the real Gill!
Had heard you're back - apologies for the confusion.. I wonder if you went for Les Mis this time round for the MS society? You were a wondeful Ponine' last time round.
Hope to bump into you again sometime!

Re: Les Mis Auditions - Callbacks
Did any of the Eponines get told today whether they had the part? Even anonymous replies will do hehehe.

Re: Les Mis Auditions
So how many people who auditioned were aware of The King & I sacking debacle from last year, I wonder?

Re: Les Mis Auditions - Callbacks
