Did anyone else in Perth see the ad in Saturday's paper re Prompt Corner's 2005 musical theatre course? Does anyone know details about it? Is it for dancers only?

Thanks!

Re: Prompt Corner Musical Theatre Course 2005

Sare3010 I didn't see the ad, but make sure that you check it out properly before hand, particularly if money is involved. Sometimes the level of training involved or recieved does not equate to the amount charged. Also check out the credentials and experience of those offering the training. Often organisations use the word "audition" to entice the star struck in and then you find you are exopected to pay a large fee or a fee for the audition.
Please note this is a general warning to those looking for this type of training and is in no way a reflection on this organisation or the quality of training offered by them

Re: Prompt Corner Musical Theatre Course 2005

One thing to check out is whether the course is accredited by the government. All the reputable places have such accreditation. Some places advertise a course as being a "Certifcate" or a "Diploma" but they are not certifed by the government.

If you are looking at an alternative, check out ACTT's Music Theatre course in Sydney. They have a listing for the course in the Musicals & Opera section. It is 1 year full-time, accredited, and students are also eligible for Austudy. They have a very good reputation and have been around for a while.

Another very important thing to check out if you are under 18 or looking into it for one of your children is that the instructor has no history of pedophile activity (not always easy to discover).
