WAAPA
Tue, 19 Oct 2004, 10:43 pmHey all.
I live in perth which is convienent for WAAPA, and im applying for Musical Theatre. Problem is all the musical books i got to choose two songs from, i've neither seen the musical or heard the songs, but I've found good numbers in there:
On the Town
Anything goes
Oh Kay
Gypsy
Charlie Girl
Cinderella
Do you guys noe any good sites, with free Midi files in which contain numbers from these musicals. I cant do any of the well known musicals...cuz as much as i love them, i havn't found anything appropriate for an audition..in which looking at the above i have found good performance pieces. WHERE in the world can i become more familiar with these musicals i only got 2/3 weeks! hellp!! PLEASE!!

the best way to do it is when u dont hear the song before and your discovery is through the music and lyrics on the page. Use the text and melody to discover the piece, and then you are playing it for truth which is the only way you can give a believable performance. its the way you have to work professionally when your presenting new musicals so why not start now. and the performance is just so much better
