Re: Racael Beck helps out youth show
the show "party" should never be seen by the general public. what a waste of unley council's money. god help us if this is what youth projects have become.....

Dear Mr Bastard
I don't usually feed trolls
but just this once....
Please crawl back under your bridge or rock and play with yourself quietly and nicely
You are a case for post natal abortion
God help us if this is what this board has become
Please don't make statements without backing them up
Fortunatley you have supplied all the proof I need for this statement

Re: Racael Beck helps out youth show
I guess he means that you gave no evidence that you actually saw the show
I'm not sure I should bother replying to you but het at least yuo've got the board moving
So which numbers didn't you like?? What was your view of the choreograhy?
The singing? The band ? the format?
I really think that as kids as young as ten were involved in the show your comments are not those of a smart person at all but just someone looking for a reaction
Are you lonely??

Re: Rachael Beck helps out youth show
'Twas a good show
My daughter's been involved in many productions recently including Matt Byrne Media, MS and Met shows and this was up to scratch... In fact she enjoyed it a lot and the audience seemed to do likewise...
Feel free to post whatever you want Mr B but I don't have time to play anymore
I don't think anyone values your opinion from your recent posts but I guess you get a reaction which must make you feel important to some degree
I'm guessing you need all the help you can get so post away

Re: Rachael Beck helps out youth show
Screw you Mr Bastard! I worked long and hard on that show as both MD and cast member. Everyone in that show worked long and hard and we produced a damn good show (though I say it myself). You don't like it then take a hike. Hell even the critics liked it.

Is this a perhaps too clever example of irony? Or isn't your statement, "smarter than mr. bastard, i don't think so..." not at all backed up by any evidence we've seen yet...?
that's the explanation. Please refute it by showing some sense and sensitivity.

Re: Rachael Beck helps out youth show
when that guy sung autumn leaves, that was the breaking point when i thought, hey i am spending $30 here not to see some amatuer dance group that can barely sing....

Re: Racael Beck helps out youth show
I was talking to an Adelaide theatre associate last night and he expressed disgust at MR BASTARD'S comments on this site. I don't usually write or subscribe to such sites.
I was in Adelaide on business - arrived 11 July. Read about this project and Rachael Beck's patronage in "The Advertiser" so invited some friends and duly attended. This jaded writer thoroughly enjoyed the show. Certainly there were nerves amongst the young performers and the production numbers looked cramped. Rachael and Ian Stenlake's performances were excellent and it was clear to me that certainly Rachael had geared her's to the young performers of The Project.
Whilst getting a drink during the interval I met a Unley Council executive. He advised that there had been NO financial support for the project. The mayor was a keen and active supporter of youth initiatives.
You see MR BASTARD all you have to do is ask before making statements like you did.
By the way I bought my tickets - $35.00 each plus a booking fee.
Damn good value for a 2-hour show. For those who did not see this night Ms Beck performed for approximately one and a half-hours.
I was intrigued about this company and so went back on the Wednesday night to see the show PARTY!.
Yes, there was a technical problem - the main curtain had jammed. But the cast delivered a fast pasted performance. Without the grand piano etc on stage, they made good use of this superb performance space. The production numbers I saw on the Monday night looked much better Rob - don't worry or take any note of the comment about your song on the Monday night. Your timing and delivery of Sondheim's "Invocation", Tom Lehrer's "New Math" was superb. You have great comic timing. Continue to hone your skills.
I read a posting from a "Clint" about his daughter. We will see great things from this young girl in years to come.
Tackling the original choreography of Bob Fosse is not easy; "Hot honey Rag" was outstanding.
MR BASTARD, you say a lot on this site. I visit Adelaide a lot. My e-mail address is PS010104@aol.com. Please let me know when and if you ever perform. I certainly would be delighted to attend.
Being in the theatre business I certainly know how difficult it is to attract younger audiences. This venture gives youngsters as young as 9 to perform with little or no previous experience- you see I can read a program Mr Bastard.
Young people are continuously being criticised. Here is a group of some 30+ who are not on the streets, not damaging property etc.
Good job Unley Youth. I hope young members or the organisers don't read these postings by Mr Bastard and lose heart.

Re: Racael Beck helps out youth show
Thank you Jon
I felt I couldn't say as much about the show as I would have liked as my daughter was involved
Thank you for your comments, both about the show and Danni's performance within it. I think she did a great job with "Corner of the Sky" and "I enjoy being a girl" Some people did not realise both of these songs were performed by the same person.
As there was only one review of this show (which was favourable) your comments as an impartial viewer are indeed appreciated.
Hot Honey rag was indeed excellent and I agree with your comments about Rob.. I saw the show a number of times and he made me laugh
each time..
I was pretty sure there was no financial support from the council but I wasn't certain... a lot of the money came form the cast itself.
I agree the performance with Rachael was a little hampered by the space available but it was a thrill for all the performers to be in the same show and I'm so pleased she agreed to include them
As Danni had a solo on that night she sat in on Rachael's rehearsal and learnt a lot, including the fact Rachael Beck is a wonderful person as well as an excellent performer (so is Ian). They were so genuine and supportive of the cast which did include some inexperienced performers.

Re: Racael Beck helps out youth show
I would just like to thank Rob for leading me to this forum. I never new how disgusting people online could be.
*sigh*Well, i must say that "Party!" was a fantastic show to be in, it gave young people such as myself, Danni and Rob a chance to perform outside of anual dance and school concerts. I have made a lot of new great friends and I am sure, Mr Bastard, that you do not know the meaning of friendship.
By the way Clint, it's Annie here, say hi to Danni for me and tell her I miss her and that I hope she enjoys being a girl on a wonderful day like today MWHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!

Hiya Annabel
Danni has some great photos from the show and the dvd looks great too
She misses you guys as well... school just doesn't seem to cut it after a show :-) she's in the middle of recording her cd which is taking all her time and a lot of my money
Don't worry too much about 'trolling'.. just bored people looking for a reaction or some justification for their dull existence
You guys were great
