Re: Hello Again- the musical
What do I know about the actual musical?
NOT MUCH!
What I do know...
"Hello, again" is based on Arthur Achnitzler's "Reigen" (also known as "La Ronde"), the same play which served as the basis for "The Blue Room".
The musical is basically a series of ten short scenes, which are all duets.
It starts (or should start) with a prostitute and a soldier, then the soldier and a chambermaid, the cahmbermaid and her young master... until it ties up at the end with a count and the prostitute.
I remember reading a review about it some years ago.
I think the musical style of each scene is reflective of a different and subsequent decade in the last century.
Looks to be very interesting, but then again, so is ANYTHING based on "Reigen".
I now know of about three films, another play, a ballet and a musical.
Hmm.. It's about time I tackled it again, maybe I should do the musical this time and not the play...
