Blues Brothers stage script

I am a Drama teacher in Western Australia. I am interested in directing a stage version of the Blues Brothers film for next year’s annual whole school production. Does anyone know if there exists a stage script for the film at all? Do you know who holds the rights for such a show? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jason

To the best of my knowledge there is no actual show of the Blues Brothers. As far as what to do next follow the link below which may give you some idea of what your options are.

Expensive

I would imagine it would not be cheap to buy rights to it... none-the-less, there does not appear to be a proper script or musical. The closest I can find is a Revival which is more a general homage to the music of the time, althought the Blue Brothers do (apparently) make an appearance.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually did find both Jukebox and Revival but neither seem to be what i am after. I have resigned myself to the fact that no stage script exists. This is sad, as the film is a legend in itself. I have contacted Apra to see where i stand. Once again, thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated, Jason

We have tried to secure rights to the BLUES BROTHERS without success. The production that is discussed in this arena was a once only - one day only performance. I suggest that you look at other plays - sometimes it just gets too hard.

Hi Jason, Did you have any luck with this? I'm a music teacher in Melbourne looking to similar (although we're more interested in a song revue, but also act some of the scenes from the film as transitions). Stuart
