Auditions - Gilbert and Sullivan's 'Mikado' Koorliny Arts Centre in conjunction with 9 Lives Productions will be holding auditions for ensemble/chorus for their upcoming musical, Gilbert & Sullivan's 'Mikado' which will be directed by Cat Baxter. Auditions will be from 7pm on Tuesday 23rd August 2011 at Koorliny Arts Centre - Sulphur Rd, Kwinana. Leads parts have already been cast but the director is looking for strong performers/singers for chorus/ensemble. The audition will focus on singing so please come prepared with a song from the same music style/genre. For more information please contact Cat Baxter on 0409 110 704

...LOL.....because no one ever pre-casts in Perth.....

...Personally I APPLAUD Cat for having the honesty, integrity & professionalism to not waste the time of auditionees by putting them through the work of an audition for a role there is no chance they will be cast in.

It is not that uncommon really. At least they had the good grace to let people know before auditions. Nothing worse than auditioning for a part when it is already assured for someone else.

If a show is pre-cast or not, that is the choice of the Director and Company. There is a saying that you don't plan to direct Hamlet unless you have a Hamlet.
