Thu, 30 Sept 2010, 01:38 pmRoleystone Theatre’s production of Nine the musical is looking for musicians to join the small orchestra (6-7 piece) for our upcoming production of Nine the musical. We are seeking the following:
- Flute*
- Clarinet*
- Second keyboard (harp/strings etc)
*Note - if you play both the flute and clarinet then that would be great, as the music is written for woodwind and does not require both at the same time.

Nine is a musical based on an adaptation of Federico Fellini's autobiographical film 81â„2. It focuses on film director Guido Contini, savouring his most recent and greatest success. He is, however, facing his fortieth birthday along with a midlife crisis blocking his creative impulses and entangling him in a web of romantic difficulties in early-1960s Venice. The original Broadway production opened in 1982 and ran for 729 performances, starring Raul Julia. The musical won five Tony Awards, including best musical, and has enjoyed a number of revivals. Nine has recently been made into an American musical film, directed by Rob Marshall. The film is scheduled to be released worldwide early 2010. The principal movie cast consists of Academy Award winners Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Judi Dench, and Sophia Loren with Golden Globe Award winner Kate Hudson and Grammy Award winner Fergie in small supporting roles.
