Wicked - questions regarding the show and tickets
Mon, 16 Mar 2009, 11:41 amHi!
I'm currently trying to convince my boyfriend we need a holiday in Melbourne, and while there I'd LOVE to go and see Wicked. I've never seen it, or even heard a recording, but from what I've read it sounds like a great show.
Part of convincing my boyfriend to go is keeping the costs as low as possible. I've heard there's a 'lottery' for tickets at Wicked, but I just wondered how that works? I'm guessing it's a day-of-the-show thing, and a fairly big risk?
I'm also wondering if anyone can tell me whether Half-Tix in Melbourne are selling Wicked tickets yet?
Thanks!
Margie

Not QUITE true.there is a lottery drawn for every show of Wicked on the steps of the Regent Theatre. The lottery OPENS 2 and a half hours prior to showtime and is DRAWN 2 hours before. (ie. for an 8pm show, lottery opens at 5:30 and is drawn at 6) It costs nothing to put your name in the draw but if you win you must provide $30 cash per ticket won. When entering your name you tick whether you would like to try for one or 2 tickets and there are 19 seats to be won in total per show. This is the entire front row of the theatre. Amazing seats! Very good value! Just pay attention to the weekend shows as the lottery times are slightly different, particularly for the matinees. There is a list of rules for the lottery at: www.wickedthemusical.com.au.
Goodluck! :D
