“BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT!” “THIS SHOW IS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!...EVERYONE SHOULD GO SEE IT” “I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY BY THE CAST’S PERFORMANCE” “SPELLING BEE WAS TRULY AWESOME!” “HOLY CRAP - THAT WAS A FANTASTIC SHOW!” These are just a few of the comments posted about the Stage Artz Theatre Company’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, at the Zenith Theatre Chatswood for 4 more performances only: - Thursday 12th February 8pm - Friday 13th February 8pm - Saturday 14th February 2pm & 8pm Word has spread quickly, so be sure you book now so you don’t miss this truly unique musical experience. Call 9777 7547, or go to www.stageartz.com.au and follow the links. Adults $32, Conc $25, and $27 for groups of 10 or more. Set in the Putnam Valley Middle School, six quirky young people in the throes of puberty compete against each other for the coveted title of Putnam County Champion. Watched over by three equally quirky adults, the result is an hilarious, fast paced, dog-eat-dog, bizarre and slightly disturbing insight into the world of junior school competition spelling. As an added element, members of the audience are encouraged to participate in the spelling bee, making each performance just as unique and hilarious as the one before it. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee breaks the musical comedy mould by giving willing audience members the opportunity to perform alongside the cast. Each night, four enthusiastic audience volunteers will be selected to compete against six other spelling bee finalists, including last year’s champion Chip, the sweet but lonely Olive, tenacious overachieving Marcy, simple minded Leaf, politically motivated Logainne, and the pretentious, obnoxious yet somehow endearing Barfee. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee boasts a talented cast of nine performers, including: Scott Clare, Luke Davis, Brad Facey, Linda Hale, Josephine Ison, Jay James-Moody, Cara Suleiman, Tim van Ewyk, and Liz Webby. Spelling Bee is directed by Sam Neaves, with Musical Direction by Alex Ash and Choreography by Amy Gough.
