WA Opera have announced their 2009 season... And guess what: NO MADAM BUTTERFLY!!! If I don't see that opera in ten years I may start liking it again Opera in the Park is Donizetti's Elixir of Love 3 Main house seasons are: Mozart's Marriage of Figaro Bizet's Pearlfishers and Puccini's Girl of the Golden West Yay, we finally get Girl of the Golden West, and it sounds like it's the premiere of the production And one of these days someone is going to be able to explain why Pearlfishers is one of the most popular operas in Australia and New Zealand, whereas in the rest of the world it's a rarity... Now I just have to wait a couple more weeks to see Aida :-) Oh, and don't forget the Met Broadcasts start again soon as well
