All Shook Up (Mesh Theatre Company)

2008 will see the launch of a brand new Western Australian theatre initiative. Musical Theatre has had a fine tradition in Western Australia and has a world best reputation. Our current show "All Shook Up" is set to open in 3 weeks at the Riverside Theatre, Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, and we are getting very excited about it! With this in mind a vibrant organization has been established to foster the development of young people in all aspects of Musical Theatre both on and off stage. Mesh Theatre Company will showcase the many talents of our top amateur Musical Theatre Performers. As has been the case over the last 4 years with the past musicals we have performed including My Fair Lady, Singin’ In The Rain, A Chorus Line and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, many of our past performers have progressed to Professional Musical Theatre Training and now Perform throughout Australia and on the international Musical Theatre Stage "All Shook Up" features the songs of Elvis in a celebration of his music like you have never heard it before. Set is a small 1950s town where music, dancing and public affection have been outlawed All Shook Up is based on the stories of 'Twelfth Night' and 'Footloose'. When a roving roustabout comes to town everyone has a different response: some think him an outlaw, some want to be him and others want to be loved by him. As the town's residents are forced to re-evaluate their preconceptions the roustabout instigates sweeping change, injecting music and love back into the lives of the townsfolk. All Shook Up is one of the most entertaining musicals to have come from Broadway. This show is a wildly entertaining romantic comedy filled with the wonderful ballads and rock'n'roll songs of Elvis. Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Devil in Disguise, Can't Help Falling In Love With You are just a few of the Elvis songs featured in this show that will have your foot tapping all night long."
