why?

Why does the actor's showcase always have to have the word f*** and the subject of sex in almost every single monologue? It gets tiring to listen to...does being a good actor mean you can swear and talk about sex?

good actor

No, a good actor gets to swear and actually have sex. Maybe these actors haven't reached that stage in their lives...

Showcase was one of the most amazing things Ive seen on stage!! Especially the music theatre grads!! they were OUTSTANDING!! well done to all, and all your hard work over the three years has obvioustly paid off well. special mention to Anna Tsirigotis (met her after the show and she is the nicest most friendly person i have ever met!!! she is also an accomplished performer, and she has the most amazing stage presence! well done anna your a true performer) and Vinnie Hooper (amaazzing voice!!) how about some support?

gee, nice to see the actors have your support. They work bloody hard and did a fantastic job with showcase/ Believe it or not sex sells - find one show/film/play for which that's not true. They also happen to be fantastic scripts - closer, greeks, cloudstreet...you can't get much better than that!

All i can say is that

All i can say is that Showcase is a selection of things that show off the actors, or music theatre students, all their work over three years, and how they have improved, and what they are like now. their pieces are not about how there written or who wrote them, it is about mhow they portary them, and their skills ina cting them. Who cares if there all about sex or had the F word in it. they weren't abhout how well the scripts are writen or anything like that, its about how they act, and they did a bloody goos job of it. i don't know about anyone else but i went to showcase to see the quality and talent of the grads, and it was OUTSTANDING!! i dont think they need to be criticised for script that they didnt EVEN WRITE!! it was about their skills and excellent ability to perform, and that is exactly what they did!! so congrats!

Dropping the f bomb and

Dropping the f bomb and pretending to be a hooker or somesuch always makes them look like they've got some cred and could tackle a role with serious "issues" - that always comes in handy for the next Autobarn commercial they land.

Actually isn't it a

Actually isn't it a question of the scripts they choose. Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing. www.tonymoore.id.au

waapa showcase

i have to agree that dues whether they be bad or good at least in part go to the script the actor chooses... i honestly wouldnt care if they all played hookers smacked off their arse on heroin and "dropping" the f and c words consistently until my mothers ears bled... as long as they did it well and entertained the audience...
