When you get a heart transplant, what is the story behind the donor heart? And does it bring more to the recipient than blood and tissue?
An original concept, with many clever ideas for the presentation. A little rough at the edges but enjoyable and a topic that makes one think.
Something to Stu on written and performed by Summer Williams
With Summer dressed in her cricket whites, she was VERY like a well-known texting cricketer. Here she is the central character of the game – in her own mind.
A very professional performance, filled with comedy and cringing comments. Hilarious.
Hello Gorgeous written and directed by Kerry Bowden and performed by Cameron Clark.
We join Cameron whilst he is giving birth – in his dreams. But we soon find out how near to reality this is. This young lad has got a girlfriend pregnant, what should he do? How will those around him take the news?
Cameron was amazing as the youngster. He changed characters rapidly from girlfriend to father, back to himself, his mother etc. The superbly observed script called for tricky ‘delivery’ – no pun intended – with so many expressions and emotions.

Beans written and performed by Daniel Kershaw
When you are travelling through the Australian Bush your stable food is beans and more beans. After a very funny interlude on how to prepare, cook and present beans so that they are irresistible to all, the story swung around to give us ‘Wolf Creek’ meets the campers post Apocalypse.
A disturbing R-rated Act, this short play was designed to shock and it certainly did. Fascinating, I think a second viewing would help explain the story more. Good idea to develop further.
All My Selves on You Tube created and performed by Meredith Godley
When your idol, the only one in the world that you really love - Michael Jackson – dies, how do you cope? Meredith decided to try yoga and talk to others, often not as sympathetic, on You Tube.
A fun, unusual idea, with some amusing visuals. Had enthusiastic delivery, but needed editing.
Twink written and directed by Suzanne Ingelbrecht performed by Andy King
An old man is searching around the backyard for his wife. She has long since left this world, but in his confusion he continues looking and talking to her. His dreams hint that a reunion could be imminent, but he has fears of how and when.
A sad little story, beautifully constructed. Touchingly delivered by Andy King.
Bachelor's Dance devised and performed by Izaak Lim and directed by co-deviser Nick MacLaine
In song, Jacques Brel, the Belgian singer recalls his loves of the past. How he wooed them and how they dumped him in return.
Straight from his acclaimed portrayal of ‘Hamlet’ at the Old Mill Theatre, here Izaak shows another very capable side to his acting talents, singing and dancing. This was an uplifting performance, which was performed with a great deal of musical skill. Very clever, and probably the best singing that I have seen at the Blue Room.
A good cross-section of plays with various genres. An enjoyable couple of hours.
