‘DIY Disaster Movie’ is an impromptu theatrical show, presented by The Blue room and Longwood Productions; it is showing at The Blue Room main theatre, 53 James Street, Northbridge nightly at 8.00 pm until 11th December.

The ten rules used to create all great disaster movies are listed by these Kings of impromptu, Damon Lockwood and Sam Longley. Surrounded by a full team of techies and squad of quality cinematographers – well Aaron McCann – our two hosts tackle a multi-set spectacular on an incredibly low budget. All expense has been spared.

There are twenty very different story situations, from which an audience member will chose one. Then there are the dozen or so characters that need to be created and named. The audience partake constantly throughout this completely zany show. Don’t worry you will not be dragged out of your seat and embarrassed, all of the action is carried out by the two fast delivering veteran comedians, only verbal suggestions were sought – and they got plenty.

When dangerous or risky moves are required in this epic, then the daring duo call in their talented stunt team.

We the spectators decide the fate of the film’s stars and heroes. Who will survive? Will the world be saved from the impending disaster?

The night climaxed in the screening of OUR VERY OWN production, complete with its diabolic editing, continuity errors and faulty sound design.

This is Damon and Sam at their very best, clever idea brilliantly enacted. If you enjoy impromptu theatre then this has to be the ultimate.

You will leave the theatre open mouthed, gasping with pride at having taken place in such an exciting and hilarious movie experience, in which you have just had a major input. Immense fun.
