Going Postal Novel by Terry Pratchett Adapted for stage by Stephen Briggs Directed by Shaun King Presented by Brisbane Arts Theatre Brisbane Arts Theatre, Petrie Terrace, Brisbane So I’ve heard you either love or hate Terry Pratchett’s work. After seeing Going Postal, I’m leaning towards the latter. But having left at half time, I can only judge act one. With a long first half, another looming and a freezing theatre, it just wasn’t worth the wait. Despite how you might feel about Pratchett, the Arts Theatre has done a reasonable job with the play – but it’s nothing to get excited about. Satisfactory performances, half-decent set and an off-beat style gave this odd story some life. There were several mishaps; props falling off the shelves and signs falling down. However, the cast dealt with them well. The story is fantasy-world meets history lesson. When a criminal is facing the death penalty, he is given a second chance... By Kellie Scott.
