New York, I Love You is proof that just because a film features a long list of big-name actors, doesn’t mean it is any good. Not even the talents of Orlando Bloom, Natalie Portman or Chris Cooper could save the bleak story, which bordered on complete rubbish, as it attempted to be artistically profound.
Essentially the movie is an anthology of several love stories set in New York, the place where everyone comes from somewhere else. Interestingly, the film was written and directed by a crew including Jiang Wen, Fatih Akin and Natalie Portman. Each segment, 10 in total, had its own writer and director...
