Seductively Spellbinding

When you think “Dirty Laundry”, the alarming connotations and innuendo that your mind can dream up are phenomenal. I know for me the thought of Dirty Laundry used to make me shudder in fear and pain, but now thanks to Brad and his talented cast and crew. This morning when I was doing my “bi-monthly wash”, I started dancing up a storm with socks and jocks flying around the room to the beat of the tumble dryer.

Now you’re all probably thinking WHAT THE? Well so you don’t feel left out and can understand my crazy ramblings, Dirty Laundry is one of the many fantastic musical numbers from the show “Witches of Eastwick” , currently being performed at the Koorliny Arts Centre, under the direction of Brad Tudor.

This show is defiantly out of this world,  It's a seductively spellbinding stylized portrayal of life in a small American town from the days of yester year.

Brads creative design and concepts bring what could have been a challenging production to something that jumps of the stage and invokes emotive responses from all in the audience, whether it be laughter, Reflection or the thought of... who is that darn girl and why does she keep signing about chicken little? (See the show and you’ll know what I’m on about) His direction style and creative concepts are reminicant of great Holywood directors such as Tim Burton or Terry Gilliam, plus brad brings his own flare and humor to the stage.

I would like to say well done to all involved in this fantastic show, you have created what I think is one of the best productions around at the moment and I hope you are all proud of what you have achieved.

And to those of you who are reading this post and have not got tickets yet, May I say do not MISS OUT!, this is defiantly a show you need to see!

I agree Jon! They reckon

I agree Jon! They reckon the success of a musical can be put down to whether the audience is still humming the tunes a day or two later, and I have also been singing 'dirty laundry' for the last 24 hours! A fan of the film, I was keen to see how it translated to the stage, and thought Brad, his cast and crew, did a super job, as did Ken and his band with the music, and Allen with the choreo. Strong leads, a chorus that was tight, enjoying themselves and ALL contributing heartily, scenery well thought out, and the charm of an intimate theatre pretty much had everyone 'dancing with the devil' by the curtain close on the night I went. Just a word of warning though, we were unable to obtain an extra ticket as it was sold out, (Sat 3rd) and I believe most of the shows are, so if you are planning to go I was told that the next two Wed nights would be the best to book for. Ring Kwinana Arts Centre to book.
