What is more is that the website you urgently try to get us to visit, is nothing more than a thinly disgused promotional site, not one that publishes unbiased reviews.

Conflict

Hi Daniel. On this issue, I disagree with you. Having looked through the site, I can't see any problems. The purpose of a review is to "promote" as such and therefore the site is quite obviously promotional. As for the reviews themselves, are they ever really unbiased? Any reviewer? Any Review?

Additionally, as you obviously have a problem with the site (which you every right to) maybe you shouldn't have openly announced it, as your "review" if I may call it that has only drawn more attention to it. In essence, you may have done the site a service, which I think was not the point?

Brisbane Critiques

I am an independent reviewer in Brisbane who established the website to build a name for myself within the industry, in hopes of working professionally as a critic in future (a.k.a. paid work!) My reviews are also published on aussietheatre.com and theatrepeople.com.au; well respected critique sites in Australia. If reviews were not great publicity for the theatres, they would not invite critics to pass judgement. Despite many theatres taking the risk of receiving "bad" reviews, any publicity is good publicity - and thank you Daniel for providing me with some! Kellie

And Jeff, you are completely right. Of course reviews are biased - they are formed from and completely based on opinion. That is the point! Kellie

Reviews

Hi there, I regularly read the reviews at Brisbane Critiques and I have probably been to almost half of the plays they have reviewed in the past 6 months. I found the reviews to be true to their word and if they weren’t bias then I wouldn't know whether to take the review as a recommendation or not. That is why I read them.
