Looks Whos Talking? - Kwinana - Review

what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive! - as Walter Scott stated wisely and it sits well this excellent production of Derek Benfields 'Look Whos Talking!' Murray Jackson starts of a cavalcade of misunderstandings , as his character Brian follows up a drink filled conversation completely forgotten by Shelia (Jacquie Warner, in another well chosenrole). Its the arrival of Carole (Melisa merchant ) under a similar cloud, that sets the scene for What should be therefore be just a 'mirror image' situation for late night flirtations. This becomes much more complex when the explanations (lets call them 'porkies") come out! The pace of a comedy such as this must be maintained, and the cast & director made sure this was the paramount consideration. Talented veteran comedian , Alan Morris, who attempted to inhale champagne much to delight of the audience, kept the action cracking along. Ensemble work was exceptional here even topping one on one dialogue and was a highlight of this fantastic production. Its a star studded cast and Susan Hayward is to be congratulated for collecting them together for a great show. Get on the freeway and head down to see it! or the train...Its very worthwhile. Ken.
