Corazon de Vaca
Wed, 5 Nov 2008, 08:30 am‘Corazón de Vaca’ is a theatre company with its roots in Australia and Spain. Eighteen months ago director Julián Fuentes Reta, director, playwright, and author gave Perth the much admired ‘Phaedra’s Love’ at PICA. Last Sunday the collective, Caitlin MacLoughlin, Maitland Schnaars, Richard Seidel, and Mia Holton were at the FTI to screen a film of their award winning performance in Spain. The group have returned to WA to reform, with one or two new dancers – yet to be found.
‘Corazón de Vaca’ or the cow’s heart, is the Spanish term for that little box of memories and goodies that we all keep tucked away at the foot of the wardrobe. This show certainly had goodies. It started with all the drama of the San Francisco bridge disaster on the people of the area, before coming around to comedy and light-hearted fun.
This versatile company covers traditional theatre, audiovisual design, choreography, acting, play writing, poetry, dance, and traditional aboriginal theatre .
Their film showed great innovation and imagination, filled with energy. Good luck with the new team.
