Anyone Seen Pride and Prejudice ?

Has anyone seen the Melville Theatre's production of Pride and Prejudice ?

I went opening night .Although the theatre was very warm due to a very hot day it didnt lessen the enjoyment of the play. I thought everyone was well cast. Jane Bennett's part played by Janine Bramall was just perfect. Also loved Daniel as Mr. Collins so creepy yet so funny too. Going again next week . just loved it. Congratulations to all!!!

Janine Bramall ... that name sounded very familar so i did went and did a quick check thru some of my old theatre programs and there was a Janine Bramall in MPAC'S production of "Footloose" Is this the same person ??

One and the same. Janine is very dedicated. She travelled from Mandurah for rehersals and performances.

So did the girl who played Lydia , Amber-Marie. :)

But were they really the most shaggable? For my money, even though they were all stunners, it was that Jayma chick who did it for me.

well I saw the show a few nights ago , and thought it was amazing. Im not mornally a theatre person but because I knew someone in it and it was a story I had grown up on as many, I decided to go. The director did really well with the casting, there were some stand out performances and my fave were definitly Elizabeth , Mr Darcy , Mr Bingly , Miss Bingly , Lydia and Catherine De Burg. Mr Collins I thought was a little bit too over the top and I found it hard to understand his words at times. Everyone else did a superb job , I just found a x-factor in those I mentioned. the set was great and clever with the changing in locations . well done to everyone.

I saw this play on the weekend and believe it is the best I have seen in such a long time. I am a huge fan of Pride & Prejudice and I was worried that it would not live up to it's legacy but I was definately not disappointed. I loved it from beginning to end and thought it was perfectly cast. I loved Mr Collins and thought Daniel Kershaw was wonderful in the role, I don't think he was overdone at all as the character is supposed to be almost a ridiculous kind of fellow and he pulled it off well. I loved the on stage chemistry between Lizzie and Mr Darcy and the lovely story of Jane and Mr Bingley. Both couples were well matched and so believable. I also loved the onstage relationship within the Bennet Family. Overall I thought everyone was outstanding and although I have mentioned a few characters that I loved, I did think all of the actors were brilliant in their performances, it would just take me forever to write about them all. Everyone had a shining moment. It was such a high standard and very much exceeded my expectations. Congratulations to the director, cast and crew on a job well done.

see I tend to disagree about Mr.Collins , yes he was fab and an amazing actor , but his actual character was a little too much , yes the character is a very irratating over the top guy , but not to the extent he portrayed him , and his voice was very difficult to comprehend at times through the exageration. But all is well , I thought he was still very funny and great for the audience , that is just my opinion . :) Well done again to everyone ! :)
