The "Deep South" of 1956 has been reborn at Melville Theatre.

The dynamic cast, skillfully selected and directed by Susan Hayward portray the familiar roles of Big Daddy, Big Mamma, Gooper, Mae, Dixie, Brick and Maggie the Cat with a passion seldom seen in amatuer theatre in Perth.

Not for the faint of heart, this production has it all. Nudity, sex, violence, alcoholism, and  provides the audience with a voyeuristic insight into the darker side of a Mississippi Delta plantation family facing the demise of it's Patriarch.

Running nightly at 8:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7th, 8th, 9th 14th, 15th & 16th of September with a single matinee at 2:00pm on Sunday the 10th this is a show that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Bookings can be made through the Melville Theatre Website  www.meltheco.org.au or by phoning thier bookings "hotline" on 9330-4565

Great show ( a tad long but its a classic!). Had great ensemble work by the cast. Loved the two "Big" characters, earthy and gutsy. Sue Hayward is to be commended for her touring policy - putting on quality shows in various comunity theatres.
