It depends on how much you like the musical 'Oklahoma!'. My enjoyment was somewhat decreased by the fact that I am very familiar with the show, and its a hard task to get me interested in something I know backwards. Also, the outdoor setting at the Quarry was a little trying on a cold Wednesday night, so I did become a little impatient near the end which may have clouded my judgment of the show.
Positive things to note about the show were the dancing, most of which was very well executed, the girl who played Laurey (Jaya ...), who had a fantastic voice, and Dale Barnard who played Ali Hakim, his energy and enthusiasm carrying the show through some dull patches. The young girl who played Ado Annie (Laura ... ) overcame microphone problems and did a good job also. The actor who played Jud was very menacing, although had a slight tendency to mumble some of his lines.
The performance was let down, I felt, by its lack of energy for the most part. This wasn't all the fault of the performers, but mainly the leaden music. Overall, it was a show I would describe as solid. I didn't consider it worth the amount charged for tickets, but, as I said, if you like the show...
