Sun, 4 Dec 2005, 11:05 amFollowing the 'what's on' guide on this website, I went along to see this collection of "3 winning short plays" at the Old Fitzroy Hotel Theatre, Woolloomooloo, on Friday evening 2 December 2005. It sounded interesting, the program was enticing and the cast photos in the corridor were impressive.
About 90 of us (including a glowingly pregnant Libby Gorr and partner) were assembled in the bar, downing our pre-show drinks and looking forward to the first bell when the unpredictable Sydney summer skies opened and poured cold water on the whole event - literally. Rain got into the electricals in the basement theatre and the management cancelled the show. I would have taken the rebooking option but I had to fly back to Perth on Saturday morning, so I consoled myself with another pint of draft Coopers and then sloped off toward 'the Cross' to find a cab...
I note that one of the plays, "God, the Devil, and the True History of Mankind" by Travis Cotton is due to "relaunch the Blueroom in Perth in March". Any chance of a preview comp?
