Re: Les Mis Pinjarra Reviews?
I'm slightly biased as I am involved in the music side of things, but we have had fantastic audience responses, a write up the local paper that was extremely glowing and the last two performances this weekend have been booked out, with late bookers being upset that they will now be unable to see it. Therefore, from an insiders point of view, it has been highly successful! A lot of hard work was put in by a combined number of about 80 people, and it has been worth every minute.

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra Reviews?
On Sunday I attended what is without doubt the best amateur production I have ever seen. Murray music and drama companiesÂ’ production of Les Mis is a triumph and had me on my feet and clapping so hard I thought I had broken one of my fingers. Lisa Williams in her role as Eponine had me in tears on more than one occasion her voice rich and strong and full of passion. I was also blown away by the strength and beauty of the voices of the actors playing the roles of Jean Valjean and the super moralist Jevert. The comedic talent and voices of Madame Thenardiers and her villainous husband were amazing and I am beginning to ask myself how the hell did a small amateur company manage to assemble so much outstanding talent. The sweetness of the voice of both the young and grown up Cosette was perfect. But wait thereÂ’s more what can we say about the actor who played the role of Fantine but another masterly performance. All in all I still canÂ’t believe how fantastic this production was and I shall have to go and watch the rehearsal show tonight (I canÂ’t go to any of the other shows as itÂ’s a sell out) just in case someone slipped some ecstacy into my diet coke before the show and it was all just a drug induced fantasy.

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra Reviews?
Hey , well I saw the show on the saturday night and the sunday afternoon. It was with OUT A DOUBT the BEST amatuer production I have seen. For the facilities that they have, they used them well beyond mesures.
All the leads were strong although others were more enjoyable than some.ok so everyone likes eponine , well I thought out of everyone her and marius wernt that good.Lisa Williams , OVER exagerated at times, making it fake and irratating , also her voice is only strong in some parts, other parts she cant even sing. Marius well apaprently he wasnt the first marius chosen so to be put thrown into the role was hard for the bloke, but still he isnt very dashing and strong in his voice, he sounded like a little boy. Javert and Jean val Jean were AWESOME. what can I say ? they had the roles down pat and were so well suited to there roles. Amber Southall who played older cosette was ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL.With her natural curly hair, Her stance on stage, her voice and innocence of the character she just glowed through the room. She didnt over do the role , but didnt under do it either, she was just so perfect as cosette, For a first major role this was DEFINITLY a STAR performance. Little cosette was also so well picked. they defintiyl blended into the young and older cosette, her voice was beautiful.
The thanadiers were also great with the comis side and well done to Melissa for playing Fantine. She TO was a great fantine, played the role perfectly , and with such a beautiful voice to.
EXCELLENT SHOW !!! well done to the director , and cast for a MARVALOUS production. WELL worth going to see .

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra
I went to the show last saturday night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved it. I thought several of the actors were absolutely awesome...Caris was so good, Amber was great, Melissa Treby and Sean Read were awesome too. I loved the show...and I was only sad I couldn't go to see it again.

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra
I LOVED les mis so much....its the best amateur show I've seen in a long time, and in Pinjarra...friends told me that it might not be so good because its country, but it was so so good. I loved jean val jean played by sean read....i loved the way the time change was portrayed with him going from a criminal locked up in chains to the mayor...to a loving and caring father for cosette. I loved little corsette....she had the most magnificent voice, especially for a child of her age...very impressive.
I was also very impressed with patrick kilcoyne....he has such a strong voice for musical theatre...and I loved the way he draped over the barracks when he was killed in the war...people laughed the night I saw the performance and I was quite put off by that...I thought it was a very sad moment...well portrayed.
Javert was awesomely portrayed (Peter Knol)...I absolutely loved his performance and his voice was so strong, even though he apparently didn't have a microphone.
Over all an awesome play.

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra
All the characters were great.,..the chorus was well done. My favourite portrayals were of sir thenardier and madame thenardier (ailsa williams and mike rogers). Ailsa played the part very well, and was very good for amateur performance (very similar to the character in the 10th anniversary of les miserables I thought). Their costumes were fantastic in the last scene.
I also thought the portrayal of gavroche by Caris Read was magnificent...very impressed...she played the role very well for a girl being a boy.

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra
Thank you to everyone involved in this production, my very first! Loved every minute of it, it was the show that drew me to the auditions all those months ago, but I have received so much more out of the show then I could ever imagine. I have met some amazingly talented people, and the friendliest cast and crew. Special thanks must go to Carole and Merle who have made this a lot easier for me than I had anticipated.
How awesome is the show....friends and family who have seen it have had nothing but praise for the spectacular production. Let's blow them away tonight and tomorrow night. And then.........let's take the show on the road like a travelling circus!!!!!!
God Bless,
Sunny

Re: Les Mis Pinjarra
I have been an interstate admirer for some time of the dedication and performance skills of the troupe. Mark Ingle (whom I have known for simply ages - he used to live over here in SA) has a terrific voice and I'm sure his singing career will rocket off to greater heights. His Mum, Lee, and I have been friends for a very long time but she's not paying me for saying this!!! I am proud and hope to be privileged to come over and see a performance one day of you all. I have just the read the review. Good luck with ongoing productions.
