A Woman In Black”, and in our humble opinions it was the best play we have seen presented at Harbour Theatre, ever.

After seeing the play at the New Fortune Theatre in London in 1999 when we were holidaying there, we both feel that HarbourÂ’s presentation was equally as good (taking into account the obvious gulf between professional and amateur theatre).

We thought the clarity and delivery of the lines, the pace of the play, and the variations in the climaxes and anti-climaxes were first class, and kept a suspenseful atmosphere throughout the play. The setting was exactly what was required, and the superb sound effects transported the play to near professional quality. Our congratulations must go to all the cast and crew for such an excellent eveningÂ’s entertainment.

We realise any play is a team effort and Harbour has never had “stars”, but we feel special congratulations must go to Lee Ousby for his excellent direction and outstanding performance. Congratulations must also go to Harbour Theatre itself, for its courage to agree to stage such a “professional standard” play.

As with most plays, we understand this one was not without its share of difficulties, but “on the night” none of these were apparent to the audience, which after all, is what it is all about - entertainment.

Once again, our congratulations all round for a superb evening out.

Re: The Woman in Black

The play was greatly enjoyed by all. A challenging production with several cast changes. But, the show was a huge success. Thanks to all the praise from all the theatre goers. Lets hope Perth continues to produce challenging works for the Audiences and not just themselves.
