EAST at rechabites
Thu, 1 July 2004, 08:29 amI saw Steven Berkoff's EAST at the Rechabites on Tuesday and strongly recommend it to everyone interested in contemporary theatre and, for that matter, in the East End of London. The play itself is an exciting and unusual combination of imaginative language and sheer theatricality and the excellent cast take full advantage of both. Bryce Manning's direction is firm and uncluttered, allowing the story and the characters room to move and the live piano underscoring completes a really entertaining and satisfying night at the theatre.
