lulu,the play
Wed, 11 Feb 2004, 06:33 pmI saw the play, "LULU" the other day, at the Nida Parade Theatre and it was excellent. Its a tragedy about a nymphomaniac society girl in Germany who loses all to walk the streets in London and finally meets up with Jack the Ripper and meets her end. Has anyone else seen this and what do you think?

"Lulu"
Based on two plays by Wedekind - "Pandora's Box" and "Earthspirit"
Better known, perhaps, in its incarnations as the German silent film "Pandora's Box" starring Louise Brooks and Alban Berg's great opear "Lulu" which was done by the Australian Opera a couple of years ago.
In Germany its considered a major classic, a lot less well known here in Australia.
Personally I love it, although I know a lot of people who would hate it...
