Saving Ardley ....... GREAT !!!
Thu, 27 Feb 2003, 05:14 pmHave just come back from one of the best shows I have seen all year ............ Saving Ardley at Stirling Theatre.
Attended this play with a friend (not really all that interested), not knowing anything about it. But hey, as soon as that curtain opened I was transfixed from start to finish. You never know what's going to happen next and the dry sense of humour through-out always manages to keep up the under-lying 'naughtyness' of the whole piece.
Some outstanding performances too ............ especially from Peter Clark who was faultless from start to finish. A true proffessional (and is ! according to his write-up) who in my eyes holds the play together and creates an exciting and passionate atmosphere though-out. Will personally keep an eye out for him it future - worth watching ! Selina (Katrina Bonds) was also very good and maintained a solid performance - the natural attraction between herself and Teddy on stage was amazing - very well cast.
The Butler (Morton) also managed portray a fumbling father figure well and certainly seemed very pissed ! Lady Ardley was ok, although seemed lost at times. but may have been in character?
To the cast and crew VERY WELL DONE !!! (& the director"Carryn Maddocks).
If you havn't seen this beautiful play yet, I recommend you do ....... only a few performance left.
Happy Bug Hunting ??!!!!
