Sat, 26 Oct 2002, 11:14 amThe Cox Four flyer had few clues as to the story line and was a play that I wasn't in a hurry to see, until a friend asked us to go with her.
What a pleasant surprise. The first half was very funny - coarse with lots of swearing - with the second half being a little more serious black side.
The play is about yet another five year reunion of a rowing team from school, but this night isn't the usual evening of fun and debauchery that the meetings usually are, a woman apppears in this 'all male group' and problems begin.
The story is novel, though stretching belief slightly.
The whole cast were spot on and very well cast. the lights, set and general ambience worked well - but with the full house, which this show is attracting regularly, the Rechabite Hall becomes uncomfortably hot.
The room walls were wisely set at an angle to aid the sound quality in this famously poor venue?
