Stephanie Shaw: Reviewer

Mrs Davis mentioned on one of the lists how much I loved A CHORUS LINE, so here is my review.

I thought A CHORUS LINE was the best thing I have ever seen. You might think that isn't a big claim, but even though I am only six months old I have seen more theatre than most grown ups (Mummy lost count at sixty shows and that was a while ago). A CHORUS LINE has so much energy and the pace never flags, so I watched it almost without blinking, even though it started well after my bed time. You can't go to sleep, even if you are very, very tired because the music makes you want to dance. The people are so exciting that they are just lovely to watch, even if what they are saying was too complex for me to understand. My Mummy said that this is probably because the pace and energy were outstanding.
So go and see it.

I also really liked CARPE DIEM, even though there is no singing or dancing. The boys are also very nice to look at. I stayed awake well into Act 2 and fell asleep just before some nasty bits that are mostly for grownups. I think that if you are a big person you will like CARPE DIEM a lot. Mummy say that adapting cinema to the stage is really tricky and this is one of the best attempts she has seen.

My Mummy has written much more sensible reviews of these plays which will appear in the Autumn edition of Stage Whispers, which will appear nationally in March. (They are back in the news agencies in WA !!) Unlike these short reviews she typed them without me helping to type, so they will undoubtably make more sense and have fewer typos.
