Abigails Party
Sun, 24 Sept 2000, 10:22 pmHello fellow thespians
I went to see Abigails Party at KADS tonight and was pleased to see another excellent production. Joy Northover has done a wonderful job with an excellent cast in portraying this somewhat dark comedy. It has a simply plot that has an unexpected ending. Cant really fault it except for one occasion when the record player volume altered without human intervention.
Lovely high standard of acting from all the cast, its really unfair to highlight anyones performance, but Jarrad and Fiona deserve special mention, especially Fiona who's character is reminiscent of Sybil Fawlty and Gordon Brittas (from the Brittas Empire).
Note reminscent, not derivative. I was relieved to find her to be nothing like her character, she in fact a charming and personable lady.
Lights were good, set was excellent. My opinion is not altered by the fact that I won one of the raffle prizes, although it is anyones guess what I am going to do with a pencil, silver sparkle and a short screwdriver.
Go and see it if you get the chance, you will not regret it.
